Dental Implants

Why: Dental Implants are needed when there are any missing teeth that are not wisdom teeth.

What:

  1. Evaluation of the amount of bone left where the missing tooth was.
  2. More bone is added if needed (3-5 month healing).
  3. A titanium implant is placed into the bone where the missing tooth was (3-6 months healing).
  4. Once the implant has integrated into the bone, an abutment (this attaches the implant to the crown) and crown (part of the tooth that you see and use in your mouth) are placed on top of the implant.

Next Steps: Dental Implants have a very high success rate and generally last 15 years to a lifetime. Making sure to keep the implant and its components clean are key in maintaining the longevity of this dental solution.
